The creative word lays hold of Spirit substance and power"

INTO YOUR WATERS
Paul Goldman
During this morning's
meditation, I was at first surprised,
even a bit disturbed
when you graced
this sacred silence,
I saw you as clear as if you were
present here and now--
resplendent glory naked on our wedding bed--
beneath you, crisp white linen,
your body so still, breasts rising-falling
with each inhalation-exhalation,
I ritually cleansed
your spirit with ancestor's smudge sage,
from your graceful feet
up the length of you
past the succulent river
where we have swum
often like salmon---
upstream to our centers,
joined spiritually-physically,
our sacred sexuality satiated
between every fiber of our being,
yellow and green candlelight paled
next to our passionate embrace
of love at cellular depth,
I laughed just now at what
I thought an intrusion
to this morn's respite,
realized that to find you
in this holy space, especially
a piquant remembrance
of a new love
thousands of years old.

You Don''t
Hear Me
Kevin
Vaughan
You don''t hear me when I call, through my actions, all week long I need your attention, not your
detention, I don''t get angry because we can''t see eye to eye You put your time into things that are not me, the
pet, the car, or even a candy bar You don''t hear me! I am your man, sweet, who loves to give you treats Oh but
you don''t hear me! What is a man to do, who loves being with a good woman Not to brag, but I kiss good, cook good,
I look good and can romance until its understood But oh, you don''t hear me! I just don''t understand, here is
a man, but other things occupy your mind Do you see and feel the change, look into my eyes, I''ve change to the
real man But again, you don''t hear me! You look for the hug, that tug and even just a back rub, so what do you
lack, your man is here So hear me strong, because the universe yields to the man, that becomes the man the man you
want to be real So put away those other things that distract you from me We are to be together, to listen to each
other Oh, but you don''t hear me, but maybe you did hear me! Kevin Vaughan Copyright ©2009 Kevin

How Kevin Angelo Vaughan
How can I
talk to you each day and yet not see you? How can I see you each day and yet, not touch you? How can I hold your hand
and yet not kiss you? How can I have you and not let you in my life? How can I plan our future and know you are not
there? How can I love you and know someone else could be yours? How can I not know you are in my life? How can
I just stop the emotion and feeling for you? How can I answer these?

The Man, The Father, The One
Shanette Jefferson © 2009
We all have a picture of what we want the Men in our lives to be.
The perfect man dreams started as a young girl, for me.
He’d be strong handsome and smart.
He’d have the courage of a lion,
the strength of a bear,
pretty eyes, a gorgeous smile
and nice curly hair.
I ran into [Men] that tried to fit the bill.
They fit the profile,
but only if I was docile.
They could run the race,
if I stayed in a woman’s place.
They would do as they will,
as long as I paid all the bills.
Then one day, I met him.
The man that could fix the plumbing
and lay the pipe.
A man that could hot wire, rewire
and ignite my fire.
The kind of guy that brings you flowers
and candy for no good reason.
The kind that you don’t have to
worry about ever leavin’.
He works and provide,
from responsibilities he won’t hide.
He’s a provider, protector, money-maker,
a mover and a shaker.
A man with a heart of gold.
The Real Man of Steel.
He will hustle for his,
kill for his, steal for his,
if it means his family wont have to do without.
Don’t hate boo!
I know he’s what you’ve been looking for, longing for,
wanting and needing.
But check this out:
This ain’t no Tom, Dick, Harry, Vic,
Ron, or Lee.
This is the muthafuckin’ man,
that I found in Me.

Remember the mind rules both the within and the without,
the visible and the invisible,
the high and the low.
